This is one of the nicest kitchens I have seen, the ceilings were 10 feet tall and the cabinets went right to the ceiling no space wasted, and look at those pots.

The birdcage handle is a cabinet door pull with a filigreed shape, stunning in brass.

Colourful porcelain mosaic door pulls are a scene-stealer, and there are whimsical shapes for kids’ rooms.

Then we wallpapered the back with a textured wallpaper from the Debbie Travis collection and painted it ‘Aegean Blue’ by Martha Stewart.

I have to admit, I am beyond pleased with the result!

Turquoise is a wonderful colour, and one of the most flattering shades too.

There are so many different tones of turquoise and mixed together they look fabulous. Choose comfy furniture with padded seating and pillows.

Look for upholstery fabric and ready-made cushions with turquoise as a major colourway.

Mix different shades of turquoise to build texture and dimension to the overall look.

You can also decide on a very neutral palette for walls and furniture, then add a splash with an area carpet, a few lampshades and a throw.

Other colours that mix well with turquoise are lime green, yellow and purple.

This room will work year round, and is easy care for a rambunctious family.
